Job Summary:
The University of Balamand – Office of Vice President for Enrollment is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Recruitment Officer to Assist in promoting and informing prospective applicants about UOB, by visiting schools, giving presentations and conducting activities on and off-campus in Lebanon.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Assist the wider student recruitment team with recruitment events and activities in Lebanon, on and off-campus. This includes activities and presentations at schools, organizing the University Open Doors at the different campuses, scheduling shadowing and visits to the different campuses (including meetings with faculty members, chairpersons and deans).
• - Fulfil the requests of students and parents who ask for individual appointments throughout the year and arrange for appointments with chairpersons, faculty members and deans.

• - Guide the student in their choice of major by referring them to the appropriate personnel (career, academic counselling, departments and faculties).
• - Arrange visits and campus tours for prospective students and parents.
• - Arrange for prospective students to meet with alumni from their school enrolled at the university; train alumni to be efficient recruiters by involving them in the process of hosting students and parents, guiding them, and sharing their curricular and co-curricular experience.
• - Attend school fairs, orientation fairs and career fairs and interact with students and promote the university. Answer questions related to: How to Apply, Criteria for Admission, Scholarship, Financial Aid, majors, registration process and important deadlines
• - Maintain a data base of schools in Lebanon and c ontact new schools for visits, presentations and activities.
• - Update continually the Schools mailing list in Lebanon
• - Coordinate the participation of staff, faculty members, student recruitment team and alumni in national and local university recruitment activities; arrange for transportation, provide promotional materials and brochures about faculties, educational programs and degrees.
• - Represent the university in social events (school graduation ceremonies, dinners, gatherings…).
• - Organize social events such as annual Iftars, dinners…….
• - Maintain accurate record of schools visited and monitor and evaluate impact and feedback.
• - Prepare relevant reports about the activities undertaken.
• - Follow up on applications by prospective students to make sure all required documents needed for acceptance are provided.
• - Promote recruitment initiatives (new programs, scholarships, open doors and other on campus events) by phone, e-mail and social media.

Requirements:

• - BA or BS degree
• - Computer proficient
• - 5+years of work experience in a student recruitment office

The Department of Electrical Engineering is seeking applications for two part-time Research Assistants position in Electrical Engineering, with expertise in (1) Solar Energy, (2) Energy Management sytem, and (3) Power line communication.

This role is part of a funded research project titled “Development of a Smart Solar Power Plant with Power Line Communication and Energy Management Systems” supported by a Research Grant from the University of Balamand (UOB). The project aims to develop a smart solar power plant integrating power line communication (PLC) and energy management systems. It focuses on designing a scalable solar plant, optimizing PLC for real-time data transmission using stochastic modeling, and implementing AI-driven smart energy distribution to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and grid stability

The position is for a one-year term, renewable based on performance. During this period, the Research Assistant will engage in literature review, analytical work, laboratory-scale experimentation, and drafting scientific papers. The role supports ongoing research aimed at advancing next-generation smart grids, enhancing the reliability of renewable energy integration, and optimizing communication, power management, and overall economic feasibility.

The Reference Services Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality reference and research assistance to all library users. This role is part of a funded research project titled “Decontamination and Detoxification of Solid Foods Using Advanced Techniques” supported by a Research Grant from the University of Balamand (UOB). The project aims to develop efficient and sustainable methods to ensure food safety by reducing contaminants and toxins in solid food matrices while maintaining product quality and minimizing environmental impact.

The position is for a duration of one year, during which the Research Assistant will be involved in laboratory-scale experimentation, analytical and microbial testing, data analysis and paper drafting. The work will contribute to advancing sustainable process solutions for food decontamination and safety assurance.

Role Summary
The faculty and lab Assistant/Manager is mainly responsible for assisting the faculty administration, manage lab operations and activities and assist instructors and students in their work.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• - Assist the faculty administration in its daily activities (i.e., contacting students, preparing files, organizing meetings and events, etc.)
• - Organizes and directs the daily activities of the labs
• - Schedules preparation of lab experiments
• - Stores and maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment, keeping and updating records of inventory and ensuring proper storage procedures
