Cashier/Accountant - Souk El Gharb Campus

The University of Balamand Souk El Gharb Campus is looking for a Cashier/Accountant to manage all transactions accurately and efficiently. Cashier responsibilities include but not limited to receiving payments and issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience as cashier. Ultimately, you will ensure all transactions run smoothly.

Processing cash
Performing accurate transactions
Collect & record cash payments
Track transactions and report any discrepancies
Interacting with students & suppliers.
Balancing /reconciling the cash register.
Receiving payments and issuing receipts.
Keeping track of all cash transactions.
Manage disbursement & reconciliation of petty cash.
Maintain clean and tidy areas.

Requirements and skills:

Research Assistant -The Land and Natural Resources Program, Institute of the Environment

The Land and Natural Resources Program (LNR) at the Institute of the Environment (IOE) - University of Balamand is seeking a motivated and eager candidate with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment for the position of Research Assistant (RA). The duration of the assignment is for 12 months with possibility for renewal.

Responsibilities:
    The RA will work in a support role for the IOE’s programs in general and the LNR in particular. He/she will be responsible for providing support to various technical, financial, and administrative matters of the LNR. Under the overall supervision of the Program Director, the RA shall perform the following required tasks:
  • - Assist in land conservation project activities
  • - Assist the Program Director throughout ongoing projects and contribute to project activities
  • - Conduct field visits and surveys when needed
  • - Process field and spatial data including analysis
  • - Collect, preprocess, and process spatial data from remote sensing sources (satellite imagery, UAV).
  • - Perform GIS-based spatial analysis, mapping, and data integration to support research and project activities.
  • - Develop and maintain geodatabases for storing, organizing, and archiving spatial datasets and maps.
  • - Support the creation of WebGIS applications and contribute to the development of interactive online dashboards for data visualization and dissemination.

Qualifications:
  • - M.Sc. in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Geography, or any related field with a minimum of 1 year of experience
  • - Proven experience in Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including data collection, preprocessing, processing, and analysis
  • - Hands-on experience with remote sensing and GIS software (e.g., GEE, ERDAS, ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • - Experience in WebGIS applications and online dashboard development (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Mapbox)
  • - Experience in working with local communities
  • - Experience in project development and proposal writing is a plus
  • - Fluency in spoken and writing skills in both English and Arabic. French is a plus
  • - Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • - Ability to plan and prioritize work duties as well as work competently under pressure and tight deadlines
  • - Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Job Summary:
This position involves performing a range of routine library tasks, including checking materials in and out, locating items in the library catalog or online , and assisting with technical service activities.

The role contributes to the efficient operation of the library and helps maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for all users. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • - Assist library users in locating print ed and electronic library resources.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and responsible Driver cum / Office Assistant to provide driving services for University purposes and assist with basic office support duties. The ideal candidate should have a valid driver’s license, good knowledge of local routes, and the ability to support general office tasks when not on driving duty.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Duties:
  • - Safely drive students, staff, guests, or executives to and from various locations as instructed.
  • - Ensure vehicle is always clean, well maintained, and in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • - Assist the wider student recruitment team with recruitment events and activities in Lebanon, on and off-campus. This includes activities and presentations at schools, organizing the University Open Doors at the different campuses, scheduling shadowing and visits to the different campuses (including meetings with faculty members, chairpersons and deans).
  • - Fulfil the requests of students and parents who ask for individual appointments throughout the year and arrange for appointments with chairpersons, faculty members and deans.

Part-Time Faculty Position in Laboratory Management and Quality Control- Faculty of Health Sciences

The Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), University of Balamand, is seeking part-time faculty members to teach courses in Laboratory Management and Quality Control. These courses are part of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum offered across three campuses: Beirut, Souk El Gharb, and Al Koura (Main Campus). Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and availability to teach at any of these campuses depending on academic needs.

Position Title:
Part-Time Instructor - Laboratory Management and Quality Control (MLS Program)

Responsibilities:
  • - Teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in laboratory management, operations, and quality assurance.
  • - Develop and update course materials and assessments aligned with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • - Introduce students to principles of quality control, quality assurance, laboratory accreditation, and performance improvement.
  • - Guide students through real-world applications of laboratory workflow, documentation, and safety protocols.
  • - Mentor students and supervise their practical and applied projects in laboratory management.
  • - Participate in curriculum review and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • - PhD in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Healthcare Management, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • - Alternatively, an MD or MSc with significant experience in laboratory operations and quality systems.
  • - Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level in English.
  • - Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • - Flexibility to teach across University of Balamand campuses.
Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate should have one or more of the following qualifications:
  • - Professional certification in quality systems or lab management (e.g., ISO, CAP, CLIA, ASCP,GMP, GLP, TÜV).
  • - Previous experience with laboratory audits, accreditation, or health system performance metrics.
  • - Experience guiding capstone projects or internships in lab quality and management.

Part-Time Faculty Position in Hematology- Faculty of Health Sciences

The Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), University of Balamand, is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time faculty position to teach Hematology at the undergraduate level. The MLS program is offered across three campuses: Beirut, Souk El Gharb, and Al Koura (Main Campus). Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and availability to teach at any of the campuses, based on academic scheduling needs.

Position Title:

Part-Time Instructor – Hematology (MLS Program)

Responsibilities:
  • - Deliver lectures and practical sessions in Hematology, including morphology, hematologic diseases, blood cell identification, and diagnostic laboratory techniques.
  • - Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in line with program learning outcomes.
  • - Supervise laboratory sessions and ensure safety, accuracy, and professional conduct among students.
  • - Provide academic support, feedback, and mentoring to students during their learning experience.
  • - Participate in course planning, student evaluations, and faculty coordination meetings.
  • - Uphold program standards and contribute to continuous quality improvement and accreditation efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • - PhD in Hematology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or a closely related field, or MD with demonstrated clinical experience or residency in Hematology.
  • - Prior teaching experience in university-level Hematology courses, ideally within a Medical Laboratory Sciences or Health Sciences program.
  • - Demonstrated fluency in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
