The International Students Office recognizes that international students require guidance in a variety of areas from application requirements and legal documents to cultural integration. We offer a meaningful educational experience for international students by organizing entertaining events at our lively campus to ensure that international students are making the best of their stay in Lebanon on both the educational and personal spheres.

Government and Ministry of Health regulations regarding travel and COVID-19 testing

All students arriving in Lebanon are required to show proof of a valid Travel Insurance that covers medical treatment related to COVID-19.

Students arriving from a country where PCR testing is available

  • - You are required to take a PCR test 3 days earlier to your flight at any authorized testing center in your home country.
  • - You will only be allowed to board the plane if your test result is negative.
  • - You will be required to take another PCR test upon arrival in Lebanon.
  • - The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health will inform you of the results with 48 hours.
Meanwhile, you are expected to self-quarantine.

Students arriving in Lebanon from where no PCR testing is available

  • - You will be required to take a PCR test upon arrival
  • - You will be required to take another test within four days after you arrive in Lebanon.
  • - You are expected to self-quarantine until you hear back from
  • - The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health will inform you of the results with 48 hours.
  • - You are expected to self-quarantine

Visa requirements

Students planning to stay in Lebanon for less than a year

If you arriving from the countries listed below, you will be entitled to a free one-month single-entry visa, automatically extendable to three months: Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria – Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bhutan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China – Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, United Kingdom, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong (SAR) China, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Kirgizstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau (SAR), Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland – Portugal, Romania, Russia, Samoa, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, S. Korea, Spain, St. Kitts &Nevis, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uruguay, SA, Uzbekistan, Uruguay, Venezuela

If you arriving from the countries listed below, you will be entitled to a 3-month single entry visa automatically extendable to four months:

Kingdom of Bahrain Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Jordanian nationals whose passports display a national number are entitled to a 3-month single entry visa – automatically extendable to four months.

Students staying in Lebanon for a year

Students should apply for a yearly student residence permit at General Security Headquarters in Beirut.

Conditions to grant and renew residency

  • - After one month of entering Lebanon, the student must apply for a residency permit at the regional bureau of the general security.
  • - A residency permit – multiple entries can be requested one time a year and for 3months only.

Documents required
  1. An application form filled and signed
  2. A passport valid for one year at the least
  3. 2 copies of the passport colored
  4. Three ID photos 4.5 * 3.5 cm
  5. University enrollment certificate
  6. Proof of insuring all financial requirements (Bank account and payment slips)
  7. Pledge of unemployment
  8. The permit costs LBP 250,000/year.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Fall and Spring Semesters and from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Summer semester.
