UOB Student Honored at Presidential Palace for Inspiring Achievement

The University of Balamand (UOB) celebrates the remarkable accomplishment of Sara Saliba, a student majoring in Interior Architecture and Design at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), Dekwaneh. Sara was recently invited to the Presidential Palace, where she was honored for her outstanding achievements as both an athlete and a dedicated student.

During her visit, Sara expressed her gratitude to ALBA and UOB for their constant support and for creating an inclusive environment that empowers all students. As a deaf student and athlete, she shared how fully integrated and encouraged she feels within the UOB community.

Sara is currently being featured in a national media campaign highlighting her role as the first Arab Taekwondo athlete to compete in the Deaflympics 2025. The campaign began with her official visit to the Presidential Palace and continues through coverage by major Lebanese media outlets, including MTV Lebanon, LBCI, and others, where she will talk about her inspiring journey and her path toward the Deaflympics.

This achievement reflects not only Sara’s determination and talent but also the UOB’s commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and support for all its students.
