The University of Balamand proudly welcomed UOB alumna and renowned journalist Jacinthe Antar for an engaging and insightful talk on journalism and war coverage. The event, organized by the Mass Communication Club, took place on April 15, 2025, at the university's Koura Campus. The session was held in the presence of Professor Hanna El Nakat, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department instructors, along with a large number of students.

During the talk, Ms. Antar shared powerful stories from her career, highlighting the challenges and risks of covering wars and conflict zones. She spoke candidly about the emotional and physical difficulties she faced, the importance of journalistic integrity, and the role of the media in telling the truth during times of crisis. She also reflected on the responsibility journalists carry in shaping public perception and preserving human dignity amidst chaos, stressing the need for empathy, accuracy, and resilience in every report.

As a gesture of appreciation for her valuable contribution and inspiring presence, Professor El Nakat presented Jacinthe with a token of appreciation on behalf of the university.

The event served as an eye-opening experience for students and emphasized the importance of courage, responsibility, and ethical reporting in the world of journalism.
