The office of Athletics, Wellness, and Recreation at the University of Balamand (UOB) is pleased to announce that Carla Boustany, a MED 2 student and standout varsity athlete, has officially qualified for the 2025 World Championships in Wuxi, China.

Carla earned her spot on the Lebanese national team in the –67kg category after capturing gold medals in both League 1 and League 2 of the Lebanese Taekwondo Championship. This achievement marks her seventh selection to the Lebanese national team, a remarkable milestone in her athletic journey.

Throughout the season, Carla represented Lebanon in several major international competitions, including the Bulgaria Open, Greece Open, and Estonia Open, showcasing her dedication and exceptional performance on the global stage.

Carla also proudly represented UOB at the World University Games in Germany, following her gold medal victory at the Lebanese Federation for University Sports Championship. The World Championships was her first appearance at this event, marking an exciting new chapter in her sporting career.
