UOB Mass Media Students Participate in the 21st Arab Media Forum in Beirut

MCOM Journalism students from the University of Balamand participated in the 21st edition of the Arab Media Forum, held for the first time in Beirut, Lebanon. The event featured six dedicated student sessions designed to equip future media professionals with practical skills and insights from prominent journalists, editors, and media activists across the Arab world.

During the forum, students had the opportunity to engage with Lebanon’s Minister of Information, Dr. Paul Morcos, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum, Mr. Madi Al Khamis. These interactions provided valuable exposure to current issues shaping the regional media landscape and allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the profession’s evolving challenges and opportunities.

Reflecting on the significance of the experience, Dr. Dima Issa, Chairperson of the Mass Media and Communication Department, stated: “The Arab Media Forum offered our students an exceptional platform to connect classroom learning with real-world media practice. Such experiences are vital in helping them build professional networks, refine their journalistic skills, and understand the vital role of ethical and impactful communication in today’s media environment.”

At the end of the event, participating students received certificates of attendance and participation in recognition of their engagement and contributions.
