Introducing the session, Dr. Moustapha Al Hassan, representing Professor Abboud, emphasized the importance of hosting such discussions that bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. He highlighted how these panels equip students with valuable insights into real-world recruitment practices, helping them enhance their professional skills and career readiness.
Throughout the discussion, panelists addressed key aspects of the recruitment journey, including the importance of crafting a strong CV and maintaining an updated and professional LinkedIn profile. They also underlined the value of students being active within their communities, emphasizing that employers appreciate candidates who demonstrate leadership, social responsibility, and a commitment to giving back. Panelists shared best practices for job seekers, common pitfalls to avoid during the hiring process, and the key qualities employers look for in engineering graduates. They encouraged students to approach recruitment not just as a job search, but as a process of self-development and alignment with organizational values.
At the end of the discussion, all participating companies offered students guaranteed internship opportunities, recognizing their strong potential, dedication, and trustworthiness. The session ended with networking, where students engaged directly with company representatives and panelists, fostering meaningful professional connections and exploring future career possibilities.
