The University of Balamand (UOB) congratulates Dr. Fouad Assaf, PGY-III Orthopedic Surgery resident and former UOB Medical Laboratory graduate, on his selection as the main team physician for the Lebanese U16 National Basketball Team during the FIBA Asia Cup Championship held in Mongolia.

This significant role placed Dr. Assaf at the heart of Lebanon’s youth sports delegation, where he provided critical medical support and ensured the well-being and peak performance of the national team throughout the championship. His selection reflects both his growing expertise in orthopedic medicine and his longstanding dedication to the field of sports health. Reflecting on his appointment, he shared: “It’s an incredible honor to support our young athletes as they represent Lebanon. Combining my passion for medicine and basketball reminds me why I chose this path, to help others perform at their best and bring pride to our country.”
