UOB Celebrates Success at West Asia U20 Championship

The University of Balamand (UOB) is proud to share the outstanding achievements and participation of its athletes and staff at the West Asia U20 Athletics Championship, held in Lebanon from October 2 to 5, 2025.

UOB athlete Sergei Tanious earned a bronze medal in javelin, demonstrating remarkable skill and dedication. Meanwhile, Simon El Hajj also secured a bronze medal as part of Lebanon’s 4×100m relay team, contributing to the nation’s overall success in the championship.

In addition to athletic performance, UOB was represented through the contributions of its staff. Dr. Hadi Saada, a 7th-year medical student at UOB, served as a Medical Commission staff member, offering essential medical support throughout the event. Coach Wadih El Hawly, Head Coach of the Lebanese National Team Delegation, led the team with strategic excellence, guiding Lebanon to an impressive third place overall in the U20 men’s and women’s categories, and second place in the women’s category.

These accomplishments reflect UOB’s strong commitment to athletic excellence, medical leadership, and national representation. The University extends its heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their exceptional efforts and for proudly representing both UOB and Lebanon on the regional stage.
