UOB Students Shine at IDEALAB PROGRAM

UOB Students Shine at IDEALAB PROGRAM

On June 30, 2025, three teams from the University of Balamand (UOB) were among the ten winners of the IdeaLab program, implemented by INJAZ Lebanon in North Lebanon, in partnership with Berytech. The Demo Day was held at the Safadi Cultural Center, where all participating teams showcased their ideas and presented their prototypes. This activity was co-funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon.

IdeaLab is a two-month entrepreneurship program that supports early-stage startups working on Cleantech and Agrifoodtech solutions. Through training, coaching, and hands-on clinics, the program helps participants identify a problem, validate their solution in the market, and grow their startup — with seed funding support of up to $1,500.

The three winning UOB teams are P2P – CleanTech, developed by Hala Kamali, Majd Imad, Hamza Aysha, and Yara El Debs, which collects plastic waste and transforms it into 3D printing filament; ReGenX – CleanTech, from the Issam Fares Faculty of Technology, created by Michel Matta and Moemen Ayoubi, which introduced a Solar Smart Automated Composter; and Torii – AgrifoodTech, developed by Bilal Abi Haydar and Hisham Hafza, offering a plant-based protein and pre-workout powder combined in a 2-in-1 packaging solution.

UOB extends its heartfelt congratulations to the winning teams for this remarkable achievement. Their success reflects the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, inspiring future students to develop impactful solutions and pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
