Dr. Myriam Mrad Represents UOB at Exposome Moonshot Forum in Washington, DC

Dr. Myriam Mrad, Chairperson of the Public Health Department at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Balamand, participated in the Exposome Moonshot Forum held from May 12 to May 15, 2025, in Washington, DC.

Representing both the University of Balamand and the Health and Environment Response Agency (HERA), Dr. Mrad joined international experts to explore the future of the Human Exposome Project, an ambitious global initiative aiming to better understand how environmental and social exposures affect human health.

The forum brought together scientists, policy-makers, technology leaders, and public health professionals to discuss key topics such as advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, data protection, and global collaboration. The goal is to create a coordinated and ethically responsible approach to studying the exposome, the full range of environmental and social factors that influence health throughout a person’s life.

This project is considered a critical next step following the Human Genome Project, focusing on the exposure side of disease to improve public health and medical research.

The University of Balamand is proud to see Dr. Mrad contribute to such an important international effort that supports innovation, collaboration, and the future of global health.
