On April 7, 2025, students from the Department of Political Science and International Affairs (PSIA) in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Balamand, enrolled in Introduction to Public Administration (PSIA 214) and Ethics in Public Administration (PADM 215), had the opportunity to gain real-world insight into Lebanon’s public sector reform with Dr. Ola Sidani, a leading expert in public policy and governance

Dr. Sidani shared her experience in designing Lebanon’s national SDGs framework and leading reform initiatives at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. She discussed the challenges of policy implementation in complex political environments and highlighted successful examples of reform in Lebanon. She also emphasized “the importance of applying project management protocols in public policy design, along with integrating monitoring tools and KPIs to ensure efficiency and impact.”

The session allowed students to link theory with practice and better understand the importance of good governance, public-private partnerships, and sustainable development in shaping public policy.
