Climate Diplomacy
& Sustainable Peace (CDSP) Hub
A Euro-Mediterranean Platform for Climate Resilience, Water Diplomacy,
WEFE Nexus, Policy and Governance and Sustainable Peace

Strategic Pillars

The CDSP Hub’s activities are structured around four interconnected strategic pillars that link scientific research, diplomacy, governance, and sustainable development.

Climate Change
Climate change serves as the analytical foundation of the Hub’s work. Research focuses on understanding environmental risks, temperature extremes, drought patterns, and their impact on agriculture, energy systems, and population stability. Scientific analysis is translated into actionable insights for policy and diplomacy.

Hydrodiplomacy
The Hub provides a neutral academic platform for transboundary water cooperation. Through scientific research, negotiation frameworks, and legal approaches, hydrodiplomacy initiatives aim to prevent conflict, strengthen cooperation, and ensure equitable resource management in water-stressed regions.

WEFE Nexus Security
Recognizing the interdependence of Water, Energy, Food, and Ecosystems, the Hub promotes integrated governance strategies that address climate pressures while supporting sustainable resource management, agricultural stability, and energy security.

Policy, Governance & Sustainable Peace
Effective governance and policy frameworks are essential to addressing environmental challenges. The Hub supports institutional resilience, disaster risk reduction, climate security policies, and diplomacy initiatives that link environmental sustainability with peacebuilding.
