Research Philosophy

Research represents a major part of the activities of the members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Each full-time faculty member, and to a large extent, our part-time faculty members, is involved in research projects that represent original findings and that should ultimately lead to publication in the international scientific arena. The present research activities that are performed in the various departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences encompass a wide range of topics and are constantly evolving with the active recruitment of new faculty members whose expertise comes to complement the existing competencies.

Research Topics

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences strongly encourages collaborative research between colleagues, whether in the same department or from different departments, within or outside the Faculty and the University. The vast majority of research projects are funded from extramural sources, which include, but are not limited to, the Lebanese National Council for Scientific Research ( CNRS-L), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie ( AUF), USAID, T​empus, or from the University of Balamand’s Research Council​.
