Dr. Elias Halabi elected as co-moderator of the WCC Reference Group on Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation

The University of Balamand UOB extends its congratulations to Dr. Elias Halabi, a distinguished professor, for his appointment as a member and co-moderator of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Reference Group on Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation. Serving as the director of the Center for Christian-Muslim Studies and Cheikh Nahyan Center for Arabic Studies and Intercultural Dialogue at UOB, Dr. Halabi's election highlights both his personal commitment and the university's dedication to fostering global harmony and advancing religious dialogue.

The World Council of Churches plays a crucial role in promoting unity and understanding among diverse religious communities. Dr. Halabi's appointment is a testament to his expertise and commitment, as recognized by the Central Committee, which elected him as the sole Arab representative in the Reference Group.
