The archaeological excavation of the medieval church of St Barbra of Barghoun, property of the patriarchate monastery of Balamand, has yielded remarkable results. These consist of a Byzantine oil press on which the Medieval chapel was built, the occupation floors of the chapel itself and a cemetery adjoining its chevet.
