About Us

This initiative is part of MedProgramme’s Child Project 2.1.
MedProgramme is a five-year GEF-funded multi-focal area initiative that aims to reduce major transboundary environmental stresses in coastal areas while strengthening climate resilience and water security and improving the health and livelihoods of coastal populations, women and men equally.
Child project 2.1“Mediterranean Coastal Zones: Water Security, Climate Resilience and Habitat Protection” in its component related to coastal zones aims to assist project countries in achieving expanded compliance with the Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). Under this component, PAP/RAC, in collaboration with the Lebanese government and the national expert team, is developing the National ICZM Strategy and the draft ICZM law.
This platform aims to promote understanding of the fragility of the unique Lebanese coast and to provide information and knowledge for securing its more sustainable future. There is a wealth of information on Lebanon's coastal zone. The most important and the highest-quality one can now be found in one place—here, on the National Coastal Information Platform.
